Antigen: Canine and Feline IgG

Monoclonal Designation: FDG1-2 (updated 11/22/99)

Ig Isotype/subclass plus light chain: IgG2B kappa.

Specific reactivity: cat and dog IgG, no activity against cat or dog IgM or IgA

Other comments: FDG1-2 is useful to detect the antigen specific activity of cat or dog IgG as it binds to IgG which is already bound to specific antigen. It is unlikely to be binding an epitope of IgG (heavy chain) close to the hinge reigon. This MAb does not appear to bind all subclasses of cat or dog IgG, however, but it also does not appear to be specific for one individual IgG subclass. FDG1-2 is likely to bind a pair of cat or dog IgG subclasses, such as the human IgG1/IgG3 or IgG2/IgG4, closely related subclass combinations. Research continues to determine the precise IgG subclass specificity of the MAb
