Ig Isotype/subclass plus light chain: probable IgG3 kappa

Specific reactivity: FCV; does not cross-react with FHV (FVR), FIV, or FeLV. Specifically reacts with 4 different FCV isolates, including one isolate from Europe (also see *).

Properties:

Western blot: does not give bands in reducing gels.

ELISA: Excellent probe (biotin conjugated) with FCV1-43 as capture.

FCV neutralization: Neutralizes FCV by 3 to 4 logs activity.

Affinity Chromatography: Not known.

Immunofluoresence: Excellent to good. (Minor variation in staining intensity according to individual FCV isolate used)*

Immunohistocytochemistry: Not known.

FACS Analysis: Not known.

* Dr. M. Kennedy (Univ. Tennessee) tested 5 individual FCV field isolates by fixed cell IFA and found excellent to good specific positive staining in all cases.

Preparation and supply: SpA purified from tissue culture supernatant and supplied in PBS pH 7.2 with 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. Biotin conjugated MAb also usually available.
