Antigen: Feline Calicivirus.

Monoclonal Designation: FCV1-43.

Ig Isotype/subclass plus light chain: IgG2A kappa

Specific reactivity: FCV; does not cross-react with FHV (FVR), FIV, or FeLV. Specifically reacts with 4 different FCV isolates, including one isolate from Europe (also see* below).

Properties:

Western blot: One good band in reducing gel at 63 kD (Capsid).

ELISA: Excellent capture (with S1-9-biotin conjugated) as probe.

FCV neutralization: Neutralizes FCV by 3 to 4 logs activity.

Affinity Chromatography: Not known.

Immunofluoresence: Good to moderate (Staining intensity variation according to individual FCV isolate used)*

Immunohistocytochemistry: Not known.

FACS Analysis: Not known.

* Dr. M. Kennedy (Univ. Tennessee) tested 5 individual FCV field isolates by fixed cell IFA and found good to moderate specific positive staining in all cases.

Preparation and supply: SpA purified from tissue culture supernatant and supplied in PBS pH 7.2 with 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. Biotin conjugated MAb also usually available.
